Event description
Hear from leading immunologist Prof Franca Ronchese and the Alliance panel about how they juggle their careers and caring responsibilities.

About this Event

Professor Franca Ronchese is Programme Leader at the Malaghan Institute of Medical Research in Wellington, NZ, and Research Professor at Victoria University of Wellington. In this candid presentation, Prof Ronchese will discuss her career to date and how she has managed caring responsibilities alongside her work, which has taken her from her home country of Italy to the USA, Switzerland and now New Zealand.

Prof Ronchese will be joined by a panel of women and men from across the Alfred Research Alliance who will share their own experiences of balancing work and family, and provide practical advice on how they make it work. Panelists include:

  • Dr Suman Majumdar (Deputy Program Director, Health Security - Burnet Institute)
  • Prof Ben Marsland (Professor, Department of Immunology and Pathology - Monash Central Clinical School)
  • Ursula McGinnes (Director, Public Affairs and Communications - Alfred Health)
  • A/Prof Leanne Robinson (Principal Research Fellow, Group Leader, Vector-Borne Diseases and Tropical Public Health - Burnet Institute)
  • Tracy Parish - moderator (Executive General Manager, Marketing and Communications - Burnet Institute)

If you would like to submit a question for the panel Q&A, please include it on the registration page to be read out on the day (your details will remain confidential).

We look forward to seeing you there.
