THE BLACKEYED SUSANS:

Australian legends, The Blackeyed Susans were originally conceived as “holiday band” for The Triffids. They have received multiple ARIA nominations and toured with Johnny Cash, Leonard Cohen and Wilco, Marianne Faithful, Jackson Browne and INXS. They have been declared ‘national treasures’ by Rolling Stone and best known for indie hits Mary Mac and Smokin’ Johnny Cash.

Their members read like a who's who of the Australian Music Industry boasting members from Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, The Dirty 3, The Triffids, The Scientists, Beasts of Bourbon, The Cruel Sea, Mick Harvey, The Drones and Augie March.

In 2017 they released their 7th studio album, "Close Your Eyes and See" which saw them perform at Sydney Festival, Melbourne Recital Centre and Port Fairy Folk Festival all with a string section. In this their 30th year, they bring their moody songs and op shop stylings back to Coonawarra in stripped back trio mode featuring core members Phil Kakulas and Rob Snarski with ex Triffid Graham Lee on pedal steel
