Event description

Description

Over a period of ten weekly sessions, we will study Laurie L. Patton's translation of The Bhagavad Gita (Penguin, 2008: ISBN 978-0-140-44790-3). Participants will be expected to have their own copy of this text

The Gita is a love song to reality, a hymn in praise of everything excellent and beautiful and brave. It is a love song to both the darkness and the light, to our own true Self in the depths of being, the core from which all the glories and horrors of the universe unfold. —Stephen Mitchell.

Cover of The Bhagavad Gita

Class Leader: Radth Youngman first encountered The Bhagavad Gita in 1976 when he was introduced to Raja Yoga (The Way of Meditation) by Transcendental Meditation Guru, Bhaskar. Radth has had a lifelong interest in the faith traditions of the world. Until he had to resign for health reasons, he was a committee member of the Whitehorse Interfaith Network for several years. He continues his passion through teaching World Scriptures at the Nunawading University of the Third Age and delivering monthly interfaith addresses at Unity of Melbourne.
