Join the celebration of the Band Association of NSW's 120 year Anniversary with this special event.
Featured will be two bands: the current A Grade Brass Band Champions, Central Coast Brass, under the baton of Conrad Curry and many times National and State A Grade Concert Champions, Castle Hill RSL North West Wind Ensemble, under the direction of James Brice.
Special guest soloists are Brian McGuinness, one of NSW's most highly decorated and accomplished musicians and our new State Open Concert Champion of Champions: Matt Kokolich, a true star and amazing soloist.
Rounding out the afternoon will be a massed bands under the direction of guest conductor Peter Walmsley OAM.
This interesting program will explore the traditions of Banding heritage and the various cultural and musical influences which have shaped out movement culminating with the world premier of two special commissioned works by Philip Rutherford for Brass Band and Greg Butcher for Wind Band. Both works will be premiered at the concert.
