The Australian eResearch and Data Skills Summit will take place on 26-30 October 2020 virtually. The Summit is being facilitated by the ARDC in partnership with members of our local skills communities.

The Summit brings together stakeholders involved or interested in developing an Australian research workforce composed of both digitally skilled researchers and research support professionals.

The aims of the Summit are to:

  • Continue building community and sharing a national vision for a digitally skilled research workforce.
  • Work together on the challenges articulated in 2019 and current challenges with delivering training and support online.
  • Identify the gains that can be achieved in boosting Australia’s research workforce skills and impact.

The focus of the Summit will be on the skills needed by researchers, Higher Degree Research students, and research support professionals such as Data Stewards and Research Software Engineers and the value propositions to articulate to key decision-makers and managers overseeing research support, technology and infrastructure.

Let's think, discuss, and action plan together.

Who should attend?

The Skills Summit is ideal for people who:

  • provide training programs in research data, software and infrastructure
  • develop communities to enable knowledge transfer around digital skills for researchers
