The Art of Rag Rugging
Event Information
About this Event
In this workshop, you’ll learn how to create a contemporary rag rug masterpiece, using traditional rag rugging techniques.
No prior experience necessary, all abilities welcome.
Time
Doors open at 6:30 for a 6:45 start. Sessions run for approximately three hours.
What to Bring
Please bring three to four items of unwanted clothing–most fabrics will work. You’ll re-use these fabrics, turning them into your boho wall hanging.
If you don’t have any, you can source them free or at a low cost, from friends, family, a local thrift shop, or put a call out on your local Buy Nothing Facebook group.
If you have plenty to choose from, choose the colours you love or colours that work well together, for example:
- whites, yellows, greens, blues
- whites, yellows, oranges, reds
- whites, pinks, purples
- mixed pastels
- mixed brights
- whites, greys, blacks
- complimentary colours contrast well–these are opposites on the colour wheel, like orange and blue, or red and green.
