Event description

Description

Monash Business School is delighted to invite you to the 5th Annual Prescott Family Lecture Series, ‘Cultural Agility: The Key to Success Across Countries and Cultures’.

Generously supported by the Prescott Family Foundation, the Prescott Family Lecture Series focuses on human resources, industrial relations and related areas, with international experts presenting on important topics and issues.

This year, we are delighted to welcome Professor Paula Caligiuri, renowned organisational psychologist and consultant, as our keynote speaker.

The D’Amore-McKim School of Business Distinguished Professor of International Business and Strategy at Northeastern University in the United States, Professor Caligiuri is internationally known for her work in expatriate management, global leadership development and cultural agility,

“For centuries, pioneers, nomads and missionaries have led cross-border lives full of cross-national interactions,” she says.

“Today’s global professionals move about the world on corporate jets and stay in business hotels; but they face similar challenges in building trust, navigating different cultures and communicating and collaborating effectively.”

Professor Caligiuri will discuss the critical elements required by global professionals, including how to read a situation; how to build trust and how to leverage and grow from each cross-cultural encounter.

Monash Business School gratefully acknowledges the support of the Prescott Family Foundation and John B Prescott AC in making the Prescott Family Lecture Series possible.

Previous speakers have included Professor Emeritus David Lewin, UCLA Anderson School of Management, US; Professor Joel Cutcher-Gershenfeld, Heller School for Social Policy and Management, Brandeis University, US; and Professor Peter Wilson AM Chairman Australian Human Resources Institute Limited and the Australian Network on Disability Limited.
