About this Event
This is a series of 3 workshops focusing on growing organic produce through soil improving, seed raising and propagation and seed saving. You can book to attend one or all three.
Week 1: Soil Improving - Saturday, 27 February 2021, 10am-12pm
Week 2: Seed Raising Mix & Propagation – Saturday, 6 March 2021, 10am-12pm
Week 3: Propagation & Seed Saving – Saturday, 13 March 2021, 10am-12pm
Week 1: Soil Improving - Saturday, 27 February - 10am-12pm. In this workshop you'll learn about soil profile, soil types and how to improve soil quality by adding organic matter, fertilisers, minerals, mulch and manures.
Week 2: Seed Raising Mix & Propagation, Saturday, 6 March - 10am-12pm. In this workshop you'll learn how to make your own potting mix which has high nutritional levels. You'll also learn how to make you own seed raising mix as well as how to how to propagate seeds at home.
Week 3: Propagation & Seed Saving, Saturday, 13 March - 10am-12pm. In the last workshop in the series, you'll learn about different types of propagating techniques including cuttings, layering, divisions, and bulbs/tubers. You'll also learn about how to successfully collect and save seeds.
COVID Safe Plan
MCSL has a Covid Safe plan. Workshops are restricted to 12 adults in the venue room. Social distancing requirements will be observed. All equipment will be sanitised before and after each workshop. Hand sanitiser and hand washing facilities will be provided.
