Saturday, November 19, 2016 from 7:00 PM to 10:30 PM (AEST)
You are cordially invited to our 2016 Thanksgiving Gala Dinner.
St. Stephen’s YAM invites young men and women 18-35 years to encounter Christ and share the Good News through Prayer, Formation, Fellowship and Good Works. In this spirit, the World Youth Day 2016 Pilgrimage to Krakow, Poland invited young people from all over the world to join Pope Francis in celebrating the Good News in the homeland of WYD founder, Saint Pope John Paul the Great. St Stephen’s YAM has really been blessed to have young adult delegates join the Brisbane Archdiocesan Pilgrimage to World Youth Day 2016, Krakow.
Thus we thank you for your unwavering support as we sought to share the resonance of our Young Adult Ministry and the World Youth Day Pilgrimage.
Dean of Cathedral of St Stephen Very Rev Dr David Pascoe on the Young Adult Ministry (YAM) of the Cathedral of St Stephen:
“The St Stephen’s Young Adult Ministry is a vital dimension of the Cathedral’s faith life. YAM members seek to serve the Cathedral community across its activities. They are a group of enthusiastic men and women of faith, who at times gather to deepen their own faith, and at other times to give expression to their faith in accord with
Christ’s mission. I offer them my full support and encouragement, as they in their turn support and serve the Cathedral parish.”
Saint Pope John Paul the Great on World Youth Day:
In Toronto, the last International WYD in which JPII was present he told the 800,000 gathered with him at the vigil, “When, back in 1985, I wanted to start the World Youth Days… I imagined a powerful moment in which the young people of the world could meet Christ, who is eternally young, and could learn from him how to be bearers of the Gospel to other young people. This evening, together with you, I praise God and give thanks to him for the gift bestowed on the Church through the World Youth Days. Millions of young people have taken part, and as a result have become better and more committed Christian witnesses.”

When & Where
St. Stephen’s Cathedral Young Adult Ministry (YAM)
The St. Stephen’s Cathedral YAM team gathers young adults (18-35 yrs) from diverse backgrounds to explore, share & deepen our Catholic faith, with a special emphasis on nurturing Prayer, Formation, Community & Charity.
Our signature event is the St. Stephen’s Cathedral Young Adult Mass hosted 7:30pm on the FIRST Sunday of every month, followed by free refreshments in a friendly, social atmosphere.
We also play an active role in coordinating the annual St. Stephen’s Cathedral Youth & Vocations Expo which gathers Catholic ministries and organisations towards exploring the blessings of Vocation and communal engagement in one’s journey of spiritual self-actualisation.
