Event description
This advanced workshop will help you to make your tenders really stand out from the crowd and demonstrate best value for money.

About this Event

Please note: this event is run by the Small Business Development Corporation for small business owners in Western Australia only.

All tenders and proposals need to show best value for money. Through in-class discussions and examples completed in a take-home workbook you'll learn how to demonstrate best value for money.

This workshop is particularly good for people who have already attempted tenders with inconsistent success, or don't know how to improve the quality of tenders in order to stand out from the crowd.

This topic covers

  • Understanding the qualitative criteria of government tenders ;
  • Understanding pricing and how to demonstrate competitiveness;
  • Articulating how your business can deliver best value for money and stand out from the crowd ;
  • An opportunity to have your questions from past experience answered ;
  • Providing tips on managing your contract after successfully winning the tender.

This workshop is for small business owners who have tendered previously, but aren't sure how to improve the quality of their responses or have questions on how to complete particular sections.

Examples of previous questions and responses are welcomed so please bring any copies of previous tenders you have submitted, or prepare any specific questions you have about tendering.

The facilitator for this topic, Ichiban Commercial Solutions, provides a range of practical workshops to help remove barriers to winning government tenders. The workshop is presented by Principal Procurement Advisor, Celia Jordaan. As a small business owner herself, Celia understands your situation, and combines this knowledge with her corporate and international experience in law, procurement, and the management of risk and contractors.

This session is presented by the SBDC, the only agency in the Western Australian Government dedicated to helping small business. In fact, we've been providing practical support to small business owners for more than 30 years.

Important booking information

You are limited to two tickets per booking (you can of course make more than one booking).

We will be emailing you with important information on how to find workshop locations and what you need to bring, if it is a face-to-face event. If you are attending an online workshop you will receive instructions and a link on how to join and important information to ensure your device is suitable. Therefore, if you are booking for more than one person, please ensure you provide each person's email address.

To book for larger groups, please contact us on 133 140.

You can cancel your booking up to 24 hours before the workshop starts. Even for free sessions we would appreciate you cancelling if you cannot attend so another small business owner can take your place. For paid sessions, no refunds will be issued within 24 hours of the scheduled start time.

Additional information for online workshop sessions

Please check your computer's suitability for online workshops, including its sound quality, browser, internet bandwidth and speed and video plugins (if required) before the start of the online workshop session. Camera and microphone capabilities are recommended to interact with online workshops.

Our online workshops are run as live, interactive sessions, similar to the format of our face-to-face sessions. For this reason, there is a limited number of tickets per session so our presenters can adequately interact with, and respond to, attendees. Recordings of these live sessions are not available if you do not attend the live event time.

Additional information for face-to-face workshop sessions

No, you don't need to bring your printed ticket.

We value inclusion for clients requiring disability access and our workshops are delivered in a variety of buildings and locations. If you would like further information about accessing a particular workshop please use the contact button at the end of this page to send us your query.
