Event description
Six-week course for Landcare and community environmental groups on how to tell their stories by film.

About this Event

The Port Phillip & Westernport CMA has engage Digital Storytelling to run a six-week course on how Landcare and community environmental groups can tell their stories by film. You’ll learn how to FIND, MAKE, EDIT and SHARE your Landcare impact story in powerful ways, using smartphones and affordable tech. Are you ready to unlock your Landcare story?

The online course will run every Thursday from 10am-11.30am from 29 October to 3 December and is open to all volunteers and facilitators from Landcare and community environmental groups in the Port Phillip and Western Port region. When registering you will be booking into all sessions.

Each week, you’ll attend a 1-hour webinar, to guide you through the storytelling journey, including clarification of weekly tasks, Q&A, troubleshooting, sharing participant insights and group feedback.

You’ll also have year-long access to the Stories for Impact Online learning portal, with video tutorials, frameworks and examples to guide you through the filmmaking process

In between the weekly sessions, participants will need to gather footage and commence edits to further develop their story. Participants do not require any special equipment, just a smart phone.

Participants will work in teams to ensure they have support and can keep pace with the course content. At least one member of each team will need to attend the webinars. All webinars will be recorded and shared with participants. Groups are welcome to have multiple people attend so they can work together.

There are 30 places available. Registrations close Sunday 25 October.

The sessions will be hosted online and links will be sent prior to each session.

This training is funded by the Victorian Government's Landcare Program.
