Description

Teen Start-Up School Holiday Program

This fascinating immersion in the field of placemaking, invites teens to explore the places they live in and challenges them to come up with ideas to make our communities more liveable and our public spaces more vibrant.

Whether they prefer to design in Minecraft, on paper or by building elaborate models, websites or apps; students will apply their design skills to solve a real-world problem of their choosing.

The Program takes place in the Woden Experiment, the transformed Woden Town Square. This playful space with its sun loungers, table tennis table and children’s nature play areas provide the backdrop for guided walks, expert talks and on-the-ground research. Students will be asked to develop a concept for the Woden Town Centre that solves a problem that they have identified.

Whether your child’s passion is technology or creativity this school holiday program is a wonderful way for them to be curious, use their imagination and think critically about public spaces and their role in placemaking.

The program is delivered by people working in the industry, all of whom are keen to share their enthusiasm and knowledge.
