Technology, Design and the Moving Image: EAL Program
Date and time
Description
To celebrate Education Week, ACMI and ATOM invite you to find out more about the design and production of games, animations and live-action films.
Each program will begin with a talk mapping digital and design technology solutions for making moving image productions. You will then see these ideas take shape in a screening of outstanding student-made productions from Screen It and the ATOM Awards.
The following productions from the 2015 ATOM Awards are scheduled to appear in the EAL Program, which has been designed for Years 3–8 students:
Dream Comes Alive – Winner: Best Primary School Animation
This is the story of four lonely scary people who want nothing more than to have some friends. One night all four characters have the same dream where they would meet new friends in a distant place. The next morning they all head off on an adventure for friendship.
Just Then – Finalist: Best Primary School Animation
An adventurous plasticine man uses his unique abilities to morph into a range of objects in order to enjoy new activities and explore new surroundings on his big day out.
Teacher's Pet – Finalist: Best Primary School Animation
An eagle enlists the help of a group of primary school students to return a lost baby echidna home.
This Education Week activity is presented by ACMI and supported by ATOM in partnership with the Victorian Department of Education and Training.
