Free one-on-one help with IT and other tech issues from library staff.

About this event

Do you need some help when it comes to using your computer, smartphone or tablet? Do you know someone else that could use some help? Then why not come in for some basic one on one tech help at the Freeling Library?

You can bring your own device - laptop, smartphone or tablet - or use one of our public access computers.

Some of the things we can help you with:

  • Basic computer skills
  • Internet basics
  • Email basics
  • Windows basics
  • Apple Mac OSX basics
  • Android phone and tablet basics (e.g. Samsung, sony, htc, zte devices)
  • iPhone and iPad basics
  • Microsoft office basics
  • Understanding your Google account
  • Understanding your Microsoft account
  • Understanding your AppleID
  • How to use Google Maps
  • Taking and sharing photos on your device
  • Facebook basics
  • How to watch videos on YouTube
  • Searching online for jobs

When coming in for help, you should bring:

  • Your own laptop, smartphone or tablet (unless you're using one of our public access computers). Please make sure your device is fully charged.
  • User names and passwords for your device and accounts
  • A pen and paper for taking notes
