ACA Webinars
For the past 3 years, the Australian Computing Academy has been providing comprehensive professional development for teachers, supporting the implementation of the Australian Curriculum: Digital Technologies. We are pleased to be able to continue this work in a modified online mode whilst we are facing current social distancing requirements.
Over 7 hour-long webinars, we will provide an overview of the Australian Curriculum: Digital Technologies and explore some of the key concepts of the curriculum - Data Representation, Digital Systems, Specification and Computational Thinking, and Algorithms. We will also take a look at assessment and Cyber Security.
You may attend one or all of the seminars, it is up to you! If you have been unable to attend one of our PD workshops in person this is a good opportunity to take part. It is also a great chance for a refresher on the curriculum if you have already attended one of our in-person workshops.
Is there a cost?
No.
What do I need to attend
- computer with internet connection, microphone and sound
- web browser to access Zoom - we will send you the Zoom ID and password closer to the workshop
Who is running this?
The Australian Computing Academy is a centre within Sydney University which provides the intellectual, technical, and practical leadership needed to fulfil the ambitious goals of the Australian Curriculum: Digital Technologies.
The ACA collaborates regularly with education, industry and the broader tech community to champion a deeper understanding of Digital Technologies and their applications in a range of fields, including computer science, data science and cyber security.
The Australian Digital Technologies Challenges and workshops are an initiative of, and funded by, the Australian Government Department of Education, Skills and Employment.
