Event description

Description

Hosted by Fiona Salmon

Established in 1966 for education and research the Flinders University Art Museum (FUAM) collections comprise more than 8000 works. These span the 15th – 21st centuries and represent various currents in western art history as well as diverse indigenous visual art practices including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists. Join Art Museum Director Fiona Salmon for a hands-on session to learn more about how this important resource can be used to great effect in cross-disciplinary contexts.

This session will immediately be followed by the launch of the Flinders University Art Museum Online Collections Catalogue

Launch: Flinders University Art Museum Online Collections Catalogue

16:00 – 17:00

Join the Flinders University Art Museum team for the official launch of our Online Collections Catalogue. The culmination of 10 years’ work, this new tool will provide students and staff with digital access to the Flinders art collections for the first time, enabling users to browse and search artwork records, create image lightboxes and share findings with others.

The Art Museum gratefully acknowledges the Gordon Darling Foundation in providing the seed funding for this initiative and the ongoing support of the Flinders Information and Digital Services Division.

For catering purposes please RSVP by 20 October 2018.
