Description

Traditionally, chai is a mixture of black tea and a perfect blend of spices that is brewed with water and milk. But, we've been busy in the bar experimenting and mixing our teas and spices to create cocktails like Chaijito, Chai Mulled Wine, Iced Tea Cocktail and Marteani! This tea cocktail making class is an exploration of the complex flavours of Indian tea and spices and how to best infuse them into commonly known cocktails. Hosted by Australia's leading chai expert, Uppma Virdi from Chai Walli, this class will equip you with the right skills to make some epic tea cocktails at home.

By the end of this class you will be able to:
  1. Understand how to incorporate Indian teas and spices into cocktails.
  2. Identify the key steps to create a tea based cocktail.
  3. Identify and taste different tea based cocktails and how the brewing method is a vital part of the process.
  4. Be fully equipped to make tea cocktails at home.

Delivery
This 1.5-hour class is facilitated by Uppma is the founder and owner of Chai Walli. Her rich Indian upbringing in Australia involved playing and experimenting with Indian teas and spices. She has a deep understanding of Indian ingredients and is always experimenting with them. Her expertise in Indian teas and spices has caught the attention of many and has been featured on CNN, BBC, SBS, The Age, Forbes, Porsche, Urban List, The Times of India, Bean Scene the Tea Board of India. Uppma will provide you learning resources and tea blends for you to take home and practice your new tea cocktail skills with! She will deliver this class in a fun, open and comfortable approach for you to learn all about her creative tea based cocktaols.

Anyone who wants to know how to make tea based cocktails to make at home or impress your friends with! Please note, this workshop is for over 18's only.

Location
The workshop will be at the Chai Walli HQs, so you'll get to see the behind the scenes how we operate and run our business. Chai Walli is based out of Maillaird Attelier which is which is a co-working warehouse for coffee roaster. All attendees to this class will get 10% off any products purchased from our teashop (i.e. chai equipment and utensils, extra chai blends, chai infused treats).

Getting to Chai Walli by public transport
Tram: Take tram number 19 towards North Coburg, get off at stop stop 40 North Coburg Terminus/Sydney Rd (Coburg North), then a short 7 minute walk to Chai Walli.
Train: Take the train towards Upfield and get off at Batman Railway Station (Coburg North), then a 15 minute walk to Chai Walli.

Getting to Chai Walli by car
There is private free parking area in front of our venue, alternatively there is also street parking. Please check the signage to ensure the parking times.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
You can bring the confirmation email on your phone or a printed copy of the confirmation email.

Is my ticket transferrable or refundable?
Of course! please contact Uppma on hello@chaiwalli.com.au to transfer and update details. Unfortunately, we cannot take refunds for tickets within 7 days of the event as we need to pre-order supplies and ingredients for this workshop according the number of attendees.
