The Institute of Property Development is pleased to announce our next seminar is on the topic of tax strategies for property developers for 2019.

With the federal election coming up, there appears to be many new tax changes which could affect property developers especially changes to negative gearing.

Nobody likes paying tax, and nobody likes paying more tax then they have to. As a property developer, you will be subject to multiple tax obligations from land tax, capital gains tax and GST. Learn the strategies to manage your tax obligations as a developer. Find out the latest strategies for tax minimisation and the benefits of tax depreciation schedules.

We have two speakers:

  1. Dung Lam (Tax Lawyer) will speak on relevant tax issues which should be considered when acquiring land for a property development. This includes relevant GST, duty, income tax and capital gains tax issues. These tax issues should be taken into account in assessing the feasibility of the property development.
  2. Kristian Jeromson will speak about what is Tax Depreciation, Changes in legislation, Plant and Equipment, what is best for depreciation, proposed changes in Negative gearing and benefits for developers selling stock

Dung Lam

Dung Lam is a Tax Team Leader at Argyle Lawyers with close to 20 years’ experience in advising on a wide variety of taxes including income tax, capital gains tax, GST and state taxes such as duty, payroll tax and land tax. Dung also has extensive experience advising on taxation trusts, superannuation issues in the self-managed superannuation funds arena and tax issues related to estate planning. Dung advises a broad range of clients ranging from corporates, small to medium enterprises, high net worth individuals, professional firms, accountants and their clients.
