Description

This is your chance to brush up on your blind tasting, catch up with wine trade friends and maybe even win a prize.

This fun, free-pour blind tasting is perfect for wine students preparing for their WSET Diploma, MW or Court of Master Sommeliers exams, but of course anyone from the trade is very welcome.

How Tasting Blind Club works

Every month TBC showcases a diverse, exciting range of 12 - 20 Australian wines. The wines are divided into flights, themed by region or variety, and tasted blind along with a quiz sheet.

After sipping, slurping and some scribbling, tasters can choose to submit their answers at the end, with the month’s top taster winning a prize. If you'd prefer not to submit your quiz sheet, no worries, TBC is also about great wines and good chat!

NB: Australia House is a government building and due to security requirements, registration is essential. Please note that spaces are limited, so we recommend signing up as soon as possible. Guests will need to bring photo ID and a copy of this invitation for entry. Registration closes at 2.30pm on the day of the tastings, so please ensure that you RSVP before this point, otherwise you won't be allowed entry. Last entry to the tasting is 6.30pm.

The wine line-up

Australia has one of the most diverse wine scenes in the world, with more than 100 different grape varieties grown across 65 wine regions. From rogue to refined, classic to contemporary, it’s variety with more, you know, variety. Over the months, you’ll taste the diversity and discover what makes our wines so exciting.

As it’s a blind tasting, we can’t give too much away, but highlights include:

- Cool climate Chardonnay and Shiraz

- Less familiar and ‘off the beaten track’ regions

- The legends and great classics

- Fortified and sweet wines

- Alternative grape varieties and unusual blends

Watch out - there’s an interloper in the line-up. Every month, we’ll sneakily include a wine from outside Australia. See if you can spot it!
