Description

TasSTEM Information Evening

There is a growing, community-wide recognition that the future prosperity of Tasmania must be founded upon investment in people; a future based on innovation, new knowledge and a skilled workforce with the ability to use knowledge in creative ways. The Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines are key to unlocking the innovation potential of Tasmania. Scientific and technological innovation is critical to futureproofing established and growing industries.

Come along to the Hobart Town Hall to hear more about the future for STEM in Tasmania, including the activation of the Tasmanian Innovation Network supported by the City Of Hobart, plus the University of Tasmania's proposed (STEM) research and teaching facility to be built in Hobart (with nodes across the state). It is one of a number of proposed Hobart developments identified as a priority for a City Deal with Federal Government.

The TasSTEM entity has been developed as a platform for Community, Governments, Business and the University of Tasmania to come together in partnership to build knowledge, capacity and innovation within science, technology, engineering and mathematics. It is a cornerstone to the economic and educational development agenda for Tasmania.
