Join director Dominique Pile for the viewing of a feel good documentary which explores, Argentine tango from a same sex dancers angle.
About this event
Tango with a twist will take us through the transformative journey of a group of LGBTQI amateur dancers as they travel to Buenos Aires under the protective wing of their Sydney tango teacher, Anne-Maree Therkleson.
After the online screening, dancers from Uma Tango will take the screen and share their love of the dance, and Uma will show us a few step to try in our very own 'lounge rooms' !
Dominique Pile is a documentary researcher and film maker .Tango with a Twist, was her first documentary! Her “day job” is as a researcher and associate producer for television productions including ABCs Catalyst, Further Back in Time For Dinner and Who Do You Think You Are?
Uma Tango is a Sydney Based Dance School which held Queer Tango classes at the Colombian Hotel in Darlinghurst before Covid 19 and has kept welcoming queer tango dancers and all their friends online throughout the pandemic .
