Scott Burchell (aka @combconstruction)
After two years of studying Bachelor of Science (Architecture) at Sydney University, Scott headed off in pursuit of other interests and followed a variety of paths. He moved to the UK for fifteen years, gaining experience in running a motorcycle workshop, designing and building furniture and working in metal fabrication before eventually re-entering the world of building upon his return to Australia.
In 1999, Scott founded COMB Construction in Melbourne, a small business, specialising in carefully crafted renovations and intricate designs.
Multiple projects later, working alongside Bell Fisher Architects and Hecker Guthrie, Scott established a reputation for delivering designs executed with precise attention to detail.
Scott looks to engage trades (from plumbers to tilers, glaziers to steel fabricators) based on the strength of their passion for their craft and the dedication shown towards a common goal. Together they share the belief that attention should be equally distributed across the visible and invisible, which is so evident in the finished product.
Whilst the scale and budget of the projects have increased significantly over the years, COMB Construction retains a small workforce, only undertaking 2 to 3 projects a year. This allows Scott to be across the design details from start to finish.
