Tai Chi Classes at The Dock


Free come and try sessiosn for seniors for the month of October as part of The Victorian Seniors Festival

Imagine how wonderful it is to be on The Deck at The Dock looking out at the boats moored in the harbour; lights from The Bolte Bridge reflecting off still waters; hot air balloons drifting by; listening to the quietness of early morning as the city wakes. This is what JinLi Tai Chi students enjoy every Thursday morning at 7.30am in Docklands.

This wonderful Tai Chi group have embraced Docklands with a passion and will not miss the opportunity to share their love of Tai Chi with anyone who comes along. As one of the students said “We really love it when new people join the group. It’s a great chance to meet people in the community and introduce them to Tai Chi. They are always amazed at the fact we have such a quiet and beautiful spot to practice despite being only 2 minutes from the city centre.

If you want to find a group of people at Docklands where you will be accepted no matter what, you can’t go past the Tai Chi on The Deck at The Dock.

If it is raining, classes will be held upstairs in the Terrace of Library at The Dock.

Tai Chi (Taijiquan in Chinese) is literally an internal Chinese Martial Art that has been practiced in China since the 16th Century. It is a tranquil and graceful way of keeping fit, improving your health, and helping to prevent the stresses and strains of modern living. classes include Qigong breathing and meditation techniques; strength, flexibility, balance and coordination exercises; martial applications, forms and in time, weaponry. The classes are created as the perfect mind-body exercise program for all Australians based on well-researched and tested guidelines from the best sport universities, organisations and professionals in China and Australia. They work to provide you with the perfect mind-body exercise program suitable for all ages and fitness levels
