Event description

Description

In the lead up to The Australasian Bioenergy and Bioproducts Symposium (TABBS) in Brisbane 20th October, and given the importance of regional stakeholder engagement, LSQ is coordinating a series of regional satellite events on the 17th, 18th and 19th of October in Gladstone, Mackay and Townsville respectively.

The TABBS satellite events will provide an excellent platform to ensure that the Bioeconomy is recognised as a key opportunity and influence on economic and social development. These events provide regional communities access to key international industry stakeholders including fuel and energy companies, agricultural companies, investors and funding agencies, transport and airline industry representatives, bioenergy researchers, and program directors, among others, to explore the Bioeconomy in the Tropics.

The Satellite Event Townsville will be held at James Cook University, Townsville Campus, from 10.00am - 1.00pm.

This is a free event, however there are limited spaces available.

The satellite event will be split into 3 sessions.

Session 1International Perspectives
Synopsis: Panellists will provide international perspectives and lessons on the bioindustrial economy.

Session 2 - Our Opportunities
Synopsis: Panellists will identify opportunities for Queensland and Queenslanders in a diversified economy.

Session 3What does your Biofuture look like?

Synopsis: This session will explore the perceptions of the general public in relation to the role of biotechnology in the community.
