Learn how to address wicked problems through Systemic Innovation Labs
Presented by Dr Sharon Zivkovic and Emily Humphreys
In this 1 hr webinar you'll learn about a new Lab type, a Systemic Innovation Lab, which combines the features of existing Labs that are suited to addressing wicked problems. This webinar will discuss the findings of a recently published article in the Social Enterprise Journal by Dr Sharon Zivkovic titled Systemic Innovation Labs: a Lab for Wicked Problems.
Overview
When addressing wicked problems, Labs need to take a systemic design and not a service design approach. They also need to: focus on addressing complex problems, take a place-based and transition approach, enable coherent action by diverse actors, involve users as co-creators, support a networked governance approach and recognise government as an enabler of change.
Join us in this 1hr webinar as we introduce and discuss:
-
Characteristics of labs that are considered appropriate for addressing wicked problems
-
Existing Lab types that contain any of these characteristics, including: Social Innovation Labs, Living Labs, Urban Living Labs, Urban Transition Labs and Public Sector Innovation Labs.
-
How Systemic Innovation Labs combine the features of existing Labs that are suited to addressing wicked problems.
-
A case study that illustrates how the new Lab works in practice
We will also be demonstrating Wicked Lab's online Tool for Systemic Change and discussing the expression of interest process for our new Systemic Innovation Lab program
