Event description
The UWA Modern Slavery Research Cluster is hosting its inaugural symposium, Perspectives on Modern Slavery.

About this Event

Held at The University of Western Australia, the symposium brings together academics from across Australia, the United Kingdom, and elsewhere, along with industry and government representatives.

Although prompted by the introduction of Modern Slavery Acts in the UK in 2015 and Australia in 2018, the symposium is interdisciplinary and includes speakers from law, philosophy, marine conservation, history, and business.

The keynote speaker is Professor Justine Nolan (UNSW), a leading expert on business and human rights, including modern slavery, and co-author of Addressing Modern Slavery (UNSW Press, forthcoming).
