Event description
Sydney's newest specialist music education concert series focused around the HSC Mandatory topic: Music of the Last 25 Years.

About this Event

The Modest Orchestra, conducted by Panagiotis Karamanos, is proud to present a new initiative for Sydney Schools. An interactive concert series for both Primary and Secondary school, presented by internationally-regarded educators Mark Grandison and Jim Coyle. As part of the push to inspire music students of all ages, the Modest Orchestra has created two sessions tailored to students in different Stages:

Session 1 (for primary students): 10am-11am

Session 2 (for high school students): 12pm-1pm

Session 1:

In response to the need for there to be stronger music programs designed for primary school, Modest Orchestra is offering an interactive orchestral adventure concert series. Presented by Mark Grandison in his own inimatable and engaging style, our concert will feature music to highlight the various instruments and sections of the orchestra in a fun and informative way. The performance will provide an overview into the complex colours and textures of the orchestra, and provide insight into some orchestral repertoire’s use of the musical concepts.

Program:

Excerpts from

Háry János Suite – Zoltán Kodály

Carnival of the Animals – Camille Saint-Saëns

Radetsky March – Johann Strauss

Session 2:
