Social media is a complex and challenging marketing tool for a lot of creatives, who find it hard to strike the balance between constantly talking about themselves and ignoring the platforms entirely, This practical and up-to-date workshop covers the basics of how to kickstart marketing using social media, and also covers:

  • Understanding your Brand online
  • Understanding your Tribe
  • Choosing the right platform for your clients
  • Tips and tricks on staying up to date ... and much more!

What do I get? All participants of this workshop also receive:

  • Printed materials to help in class;
  • Lifetime access to a dedicated Social Media dropbox folder full of additional resources and help;
  • Access to a website full of links and resources to help them get ahead in their creative business.

The workshop is relaxed and informal, you can ask all the questions you’ve never been able to ask before, and participants will also be given ample opportunity to network and get to know each other.

You also get free advice! All participants are entitled to 4 x 1 hour CHAT sessions, with a creative industries business advisor, 100% subsidised by Business Connect and therefore at no cost to you (no, there’s no catch!).

Who should enrol? This workshop is ideal for freelancers, small creative businesses and arts organisations. It’s also relevant no matter what your profession – filmmakers, writers, designers, visual artists, musicians, composers, dancers, performers – everyone can benefit from a guide to marketing strategy.

Who is Presenting? Lillie Brown, freelance marketing strategist and Marketing Manager of the Creative Plus Business Group. Lillie works with small to medium creative businesses to devise and implement marketing and social media strategies that are easy for creative brains to digest. She walks clients through a comprehensive planning process to create simple to understand and actionable strategies to help them fulfil their vision. She has been the Marketing Manager of Creative Plus Business since 2018, and she is invaluable to helping build our social enterprise.

Business Connect is a dedicated and personalised NSW Government program that provides trusted advice to help you start or grow your small business. Creative Plus Business provides confidential, independent business advice and skills training for small and medium creative businesses across NSW as part of the NSW Government’s Business Connect program.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

This event is open to all ages – but be warned, we are fans of ‘colourful’ (M rated) language!

Will I get fed?

We offer unlimited tea, coffee and good bikkies throughout the day, and nibblies in our evening courses. We don't offer lunch or dinner, but contact the venue for places nearby to grab something tasty. You'll get a 15 minute break for our short courses and 45-60 minutes for lunch on a full day course.

Do you offer concessions?

No. Our prices are set due to our relationship with NSW Business Connect - remember, for that price you also get 4 hours of additional business advice! However, feel free to get in touch if you’re very strapped for cash and we’ll see what we can do.

What's with the Dropbox?

All our workshops offer lifetime access to a Dropbox folder after the event, which will contain more resources and helpful material to mazimise your trainng with us. If you're not very technological, ask your facilitator about the Dropbox or visit the website here: https://www.dropbox.com/help

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

You can give your ticket to someone else to use, but there will be no transfers to another workshop if you can't attend. However, if you let us know WELL in advance if you can’t attend, we’ll try and pop you in another workshop. There is a refund policy up to 1 day before the workshop commences.
