Event description

Description

Marketing, done well, provides useful, relevant, valuable information that attracts the exact type of person that your arts business is perfect for. When we create content that develops rapport, we reach through computer screens to pluck the heartstrings of thousands. Our community becomes a self-sustaining, self-perpetuating word-of-mouth machine that enables us to collaborate far more closely, fuelling our creativity and our business’s bottom line.

This second practical half-day presentation follows up from Content Creates Community Part 1 and helps creative professionals implement their content strategy across the most compelling platforms. The workshop covers:

  • Instagram marketing
  • Facebook marketing
  • Blogging and Email
  • Keeping up with community

The first half of Content Creates Community focuses on creating an initial strategy, writing your bio, creating clickable headlines and defining your difference. To enrol, click here.

What do I get?

All participants of this workshop also receive:

  • Printed materials to help in class;
  • Lifetime access to a dedicated Content Creates Community dropbox folder full of additional resources and help;
  • Access to a webpage full of links and resources to help them get ahead in their creative business;
  • The chance to organise additional professional support for content creation and strategy.

The workshop is relaxed and informal, you can ask all the questions you’ve never been able to ask before, and participants will also be given ample opportunity to network and get to know each other.

You also get free advice!

All NSW participants are entitled to 4 x 1 hour CHAT sessions, with a creative industries business advisor, 100% subsidised by Business Connect and therefore at no cost to you (no, there’s no catch!).

Who should enrol?

Creative industries professionals and business people from start-up to established. Freelancers and soloists also welcome.

Who is Presenting?

The course is presented by Brook McCarthy, a digital marketing trainer, writer and business coach who specialises in the health and creative sectors. Brook started her business in early 2008, specialising in digital marketing for small business and solo-entrepreneurs. Brook conducts face-to-face courses around Australia, online one-to-one business coaching, and runs a flagship digital marketing program, Hustle & Heart.

FAQs

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

This event is open to all ages – but be warned, Monica is a fan of ‘colourful’ language!

What's the address again?

We are in DARLINGHURST, not Paddington! Between Crown and Riley streets, opposite the ANZ bank.

Can I park? Should I drive?

Street parking is very limited. What little is available is timed and costs roughly $4.50 per hour. There is a Wilson parking station nearby at 70 Riley Street which is more reasonable - the flat rate is $15 per day on weekends. It's about 10 minutes walk from our location.

What are my public transport options getting to the event?

BY TRAIN: The closest railway station is Museum, and the venue is a short walk up Oxford Street. BY BUS: All of the Oxford Street buses go past our building and will drop you at the nearest stop near the corner of Crown Street. The 440 and the M10 also come from Central.

Do you offer concessions?

No. Our prices are set due to our relationship with NSW Department of Industry and Business Connect - remember, for that price you also get 4 hours of additional business advice! However, feel free to get in touch if you’re very strapped for cash and we’ll see what we can do.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

You can give your ticket to someone else to use, but there will be no refunds if you can't attend. Let us know in advance if you can’t attend and we’ll try and pop you in another workshop. There is a refund policy up to 1 day before the workshop commences.

Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?

Please email hello@creativeplusbusiness.com or call the office on 02 8091 2082.
