Event description

Description

If your organisation receives a discrimination or bullying complaint, will you know what to do?

Total discrimination complaints have increased since the introduction of the Fair Work Act 2009 and expanded the grounds and avenues for discrimination complaints by employees.

Organisations who fail to ensure that all staff understand the laws to prevent workplace discrimination and bullying expose themselves and their managers to expensive claims.

This workshop will explore recent changes to the legislation and through practical examples and exercises, will help participants to understand how to identify inappropriate behaviour, and their responsibility to prevent it.

At the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Understand the overlap between harassment, discrimination and adverse action
  • Understand the difference between direct and indirect discrimination
  • Understand what is and what is not sexual harassment
  • Understand the issue of vicarious liability and why it is important for the employer to act
  • Appreciate the cost of inappropriate workplace treatment of others
  • Understand why it is important to prevent bullying and discrimination in the workplace
  • Deal with a formal complaint, including investigations, and recommendations on appropriate actions

Course Price: $440.00
