Description

Westpac Business Horizon connects first year undergraduate business students with alumni at this fun and unique networking event supported by Westpac.

-------------------------------------------------

PLEASE NOTE: Registration is essential. Places are strictly limited to ten alumni for this event, and as such it will be first in best dressed with a wait-list.

As this event relies on a set number of participants, please notify us if your circumstances change and if you are no longer able to attend, so that we can offer your place to another graduate on the wait-list.

------------------------------------------------

Over a two hour speedy event, you'll meet with students and participate in career-focused Q&A conversations within small groups and at tables consisting of 1 UNSW Business School/AGSM graduate, 1 current Westpac graduate program staff or mid-senior manager and 7-8 undergraduate business students per table.

Students have the opportunity to ask our graduates and Westpac staff questions for 20 minutes before moving to the next table.

You'll meet multiple students in an hour (up to 24 students over 3 x 20 minute rotations).

There will also be an opportunity for general networking over drinks and canapés after the official, allotted networking time.

What type of questions will the students ask?
You can help students appreciate how far their business degree can take them by sharing your top pieces of advice for pursuing a career in the business world, information about your career path, industry and workplace.

In addition, here are some other topics students may also ask about so that you can consider your answers, but otherwise no preparation is required.

  • Looking at potential career path or industry options
  • Preparing for and navigating graduate and internship opportunities
  • Transition from university to work
  • Is part time work or volunteering viewed as valuable experience
  • Understanding workplace culture
  • Life - work balance
  • Networking
  • Non-academic skills employers look for in graduates
