Description

What should we do about antimicrobial resistance?

Antimicrobial resistance is a global health problem that requires cooperation between multiple scientific and health disciplines to address. This talk will address some perspectives on how patients, healthcare providers and the average person can practice antibiotic stewardship and what the future of treating antibiotic resistance might look like, based on current research.

Dr Julia Wong is a microbiologist and postdoctoral research fellow at UNSW Sydney interested in the mechanisms of antibiotic resistance in Staphylococcus aureus.

This free event is part of Inspiring Australia’s Talking Science library speaker series for Sydney Science Festival in National Science Week.
