Event description

Description

Help celebrate National Science Week. Join us on this tour for adults in the heart of Western Sydney at Lennox Bridge. The Parramatta River was once a major barrier for the expansion of settlement to the north. In the 1830s, a reliable sandstone bridge was built by David Lennox with convict labour. While it has been modified several times, the Lennox Bridge still carries thousands of people across the River every day.

Join architects engaged in the latest works to get an expert insight into the history and construction of this and previous river crossings. You’ll see the special details built into the bridge that point to its rich history and learn more about the work of the original builders.

This tour is for adults. Bookings are essential as places are limited. $5 per person. Saturday 19 August from 2.15-3.15pm
