Please join us for this free public lecture by Open Knowledge Foundation Founder Dr Rufus Pollock.
Dr Pollock will share his thoughts on the future of open knowledge for research, business and the public in this interactive session. Discussion will be led by newly appointed OKFN Australian ambassadors Dr Mat Todd and Dr Anne Cregan-Wolfe.
It is open to all who are interested in the Open Knowledge and Open Data movement. This is a rare opportunity to hear Dr Pollock speaking live and engaging in public debate about Open Knowledge. Bring along your questions, ideas and enthusiasm.
The event will include an overview of the OKFN, announce its official launch in Australia and the local Ambassadors, and info about how to get involved locally. If you're interested in being involved please see the associated OKFN Australia Sydney launch event being held the following evening at Intersect on Tuesday 27 August 2013.
This event is also being advertised as part of the Sydney Ideas lecture series.
Local Sponsors: Intersect Australia, National ICT Australia, University of Sydney.
Tickets are not required for admission but registering for this event will help us keep in touch with you and give us an idea of numbers.
