Sydney Lunar Festival: Lucky envelopes
Event Information
About this event
Sydney’s much-loved Town Hall holds a special place in the hearts of Sydneysiders and every year, it welcomes thousands of people through its doors. When those doors were opened in November 1889, the citizens of Sydney were promised a building where they could gather, socialise and enjoy significant cultural events. From Federation to the Sydney 2000 Olympics, from Lady Gaga to the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, from balls to birthdays and in times of peace, war and pandemics, the Town Hall continues to be anchored to the social life of our city.
Margaret Betteridge is the curator of the City of Sydney’s civic collection. She enjoys sharing special stories about Sydney through some of the City of Sydney’s fascinating and intriguing objects and archives.
