Sydney Energy Leaders Forum (ELF) and Venture Cafe Sydney (VCS)

Energy Leaders Forum (ELF) events provide the opportunity to interact with like-minded professionals in the clean energy sector to discuss projects, challenges and solutions, galvanise industry engagement, and spark investment opportunities.

Each Energy Leaders Forum focuses on a key topic - chosen from a shortlist selection by the Energy Leaders community - under the overarching theme of 2020 Vision x Energy, highlighting Challenges and Opportunities in the Energy Sector.

Major themes of interest identified by the community include solar and wind, batteries and other energy storage, EVs, hydrogen, wave energy and other new technologies, energy efficiency, energy market disruptors, digital innovation, community engagement, and the Energy Leaders Awards.

The Sydney Energy Leaders Forum is hosted within the Venture Cafe Sydney (VCS) weekly event series, part of the Venture Cafe Global network founded in 2009 by the Cambridge Innovation Center in Boston, USA. VCS is championed by Macquarie University and founding partners City of Ryde, EY, Konica Minolta, NAB, NSW Department of Treasury, ORIX and Stockland.

Liz Fletcher [LinkedIn Profile]

In key roles at both Flow Power and TransGrid, Liz has taken great ideas and built brands, teams and businesses from them. She is an ardent believer in the role of strategy and marketing in bringing forward the new energy era. To grow, businesses need to humanise their ideas so real people want to and can buy into them. More than just a thought bubble, she is doing something about it. In 2019, she co-founded the etc, a platform to grow the marketing cohort in the energy industry.

Amy Kean [LinkedIn Profile]

Amy is a leader in renewable energy with 20 years of unique experience in the industry across government and business. She has specialist skills in energy regulation, renewable energy technology and finances. Amy has a track record in delivery, developing partnerships, government advocacy and business development with achievements including: 2017 Green Globe award for Public Sector Leadership, Australia’s first Renewable Energy Advocate position at NSW Government collaborating with communities and industry to facilitate the development and generation of renewable energy, including implementing the NSW Renewable Energy Action Plan; and establishing the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP) in the region.

Felicity is a results driven senior management professional with over 20 years experience. She has a solid track record delivering innovation and high-performing projects in the energy sector to Australian businesses, energy utilities and government agencies. Currently CEO at Enova Community Energy, her significant energy sector experience includes roles at Australian Power & Gas (now AGL), NSW Department of Energy, Utilities and Sustainability (DEUS), Pooled Energy and Jemena. Felicity uses her extensive business development and product commercialisation expertise, combined with her ability to develop strong business partnerships, to consistently exceed business outcomes.

As Managing Director Energy at PwC, Sally heads up the Infrastructure Lead Advisory services, facilitating the development of major projects. The team has a network of over 3000 corporate relationships throughout the energy and infrastructure sectors, and connecting experts across more than 60 countries. Sally is an industry focused lawyer who is dual qualified in the legal and engineering professions. Her Practice Areas include Energy, Renewables, Storage, Power, PPP, Global Transactions, Infrastructure, and Project Financing. She has supported corporations in infrastructure investment projects up to a value of $2B, particularly in countries with significant political, financial, and legal risks.

Tricia Lorenzo [LinkedIn Profile]

Tricia's role at Flow Power focuses on creating value for clients through the wholesale electricity market, facilitating operational energy efficiencies and helping customers take control of their energy. In 2009, Flow Power pioneered a way for smaller businesses to buy their power direct from the wholesale market, and pave the way to a clean energy future. in 2019, Flow Power facilitated City of Sydney, City of Newcastle transition to 100% renewable electricity. And in 2020, the City of Adelaide announced that, in a first for SA councils, operations will be powered by a 100 per cent renewable electricity contract with Flow Power, sourced from a mix of South Australian wind and solar farms. This means everything that council operates, including buildings, electric vehicle chargers, BBQs, water pumps, street and traffic lights will all be powered by renewable electricity – reducing emissions by approximately 50 per cent.
