SYDNEY CBD - Effective Disciplinary Action

Are you unsure if the disciplinary action conducted is procedurally and substantively fair?
It is vital that employers to get it right the first time round, as employees have ready access to The Fair Work Commission to challenge disciplinary action or the loss of their job.
This blended program combines 2 online modules that cover performance counselling, the legislative framework and disciplinary action. The online modules allow you the opportunity to learn at your pace, at your convenience and can be accessed at anytime.
This is followed by the face to face session on the 27th April, which focuses on the practical application of the skills learnt via the online modules. This part of the course is highly interactive and participants will engage in practical exercises and role plays to re-enforce their online learnings.
This is a new format for running our disciplinary training and we have received very favourable feedback from previous participants due to the reduction of time away from the workplace and the highly interactive fun nature of the day.
At the end of this training session, participants will be able to:
Understand the requirements of the Fair Work Act 2009 in respect of discipline and dismissals
Recognise employee shortcomings
Conduct a performance counseling session
Effectively reprimand an employee
Recognise improved performance
Conduct a disciplinary interview
Handle employee responses
Accurately investigate a disciplinary incident
Conduct a termination interview
Determine an appropriate penalty/sanction
Keep accurate records of all disciplinary incidents
