Event description

Description

Coming into summer, your hives should be in full flow now and you might even have done a harvest already and processed some wax. If not, come along to hear about how others have, exchange stories and pick up practical tips while handling some bees.

You will learn about differences of Langstroth and Warré hive and flow hive technology, we will also revise basics of brood inspection, disease signs if any, general good beekeeping practices.

If you bring clean gloves you can have the opportunity to manipulate frames.

We will have a snack and a drink at the end of the inspection, this will give you more opportunity to ask questions, exchange your experience, and meet other bee friendly people.

Please register by the Friday beforehand (16 November) so we can work out the numbers for catering and hire gear.

If you are hiring protective gear, please wear closed in shoes with socks and a cap (the cap helps keep the veil off your face).

The event will still be on if it is raining.
