Event description

Description

Come along and learn about packing your hive down for winter and what you can be doing for your bees over the cooler months. We will evaluate honey stores and make sure our bees have enough reserves for winter to see them into a healthy spring.

You will learn about differences of Langstroth and Warré hive and flow hive technology. We'll also be talking about equipment repair and storage to keep them clean and functional for the next season.

If you have clean gloves, bring them along to handle some bees and frames if the weather is warm enough to open up a hive.

We will have a snack and a drink at the end of the inspection, this will give you more opportunity to ask questions, exchange your experience, and meet other bee friendly people.

Please register by the Friday beforehand (10th May) so we can work out the numbers for catering and hire gear.

If you are hiring protective gear, please wear closed in shoes with socks and a cap (the cap helps keep the veil off your face).

The event will still be on if it is raining.
