About Max Hardy and Becky Hirst

Max Hardy, is one of Australia's most experienced community engagement practitioners and trainers. He is passionate about collaboration, appreciative inquiry, collective impact and deliberative community engagement. Max helped to establish the International Association for Public Participation Australasia, has co-written two books on engagement and collaboration, and has led numerous Award-winning community engagement processes.

Becky Hirst is a highly accomplished award-winning community and stakeholder engagement practitioner with 19 years’ experience in Australia and the UK. Her specialist experience of engaging people in decision making, problem-solving and collaborative co-design processes spans high-profile and sensitive issues across a wealth of markets. Becky founded and leads Engage 2 Act, a global collective of individuals committed to progressing high quality community engagement practice. She is deeply passionate about engagement processes being straightforward, transparent and accessible.
