Event description

Description

Sydney’s population is expected to almost double by 2056. Development levels across the city are visibly high and significant infrastructure projects are underway.

There is so much change in play or in the pipeline. But what will ensure Sydney is a sustainable, liveable and successful city? What will cement our position as a globally competitive city?

We invite you to join us for an insightful and vibrant discussion on Sydney’s current state and future aspirations. Graham Jahn, Professor Edward Blakely and David Borger will join the panel, with Urbis Director James Tuma, moderating.

In our recent publication, Shaping Australian Cities, we identified key aspects as to what makes a globally competitive city. The Greater Sydney Commission has developed a plan to shape Sydney’s future. The task is not an easy one, but one important to all of us.

Do you agree with the Greater Sydney Commission’s plan for ‘3 cities’? What changes or actions should we be taking now to ensure a better future for all of Sydney’s communities?

_______

Registration opens at 5.15pm. Presentation, panel discussion and Q&A will begin at 5.30pm. Refreshments will be provided.
