Event description
2021 Sydney Acts 29 Network Conference

About this Event

Acts 29 invites you to join us in Sydney for our annual network conference, February 25-27 2021.

J.I Packer once exhorted his students, “Do not neglect the revival dimension of your ministry.” At our 2021 Network Conference, we will be exploring the theme of ‘Renewal.’ What does it look like when God causes the normal ministry rhythms of gospel-faithfulness, to surge forward with divine power? What does renewal look like in Scripture, in history, in society, in the church, and in us personally, when God infuses His people with spiritual life through the Holy Spirit? We’d love to have you join us next year in Sydney — February 25th-27th — as we ask God to renew, reform, and revive His Church in our part of the world.

SPEAKERS

Ray Ortlund - Ray graduated from Wheaton College as a Bachelor of Arts, from Dallas Theological Seminary as a Master of Theology, from The University of California at Berkeley as a Master of Arts, and from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, as a Doctor of Philosophy. Pastor Ortlund was ordained into the Christian ministry by Lake Avenue Congregational Church, Pasadena, California, in 1975. He taught Old Testament and Semitic Languages at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Deerfield, Illinois, from 1989 to 1998. His primary ministry, for 28 years, has been as a pastor in California, Oregon, Georgia and Tennessee.

In addition to numerous essays and articles, Ray has published eight books. His latest, Marriage and the Mystery of the Gospel, was named “2017 Christian Book of the Year” in the category Bible Study. He also served as an Old Testament translator for The New Living Translation and The English Standard Version of the Bible. He contributed the introduction and study notes to the book of Isaiah in The ESV Study Bible. In addition to serving at Immanuel Nashville, Ray is the President of Renewal Ministries and serves on the Council of The Gospel Coalition. Ray and his wife Jani have been married for forty-six happy years, they have four delightful children and 14 amazing grandchildren. Ray says, “I have the most wonderful wife, I love my kids and grandkids, and I love Immanuel Church. My dream is that God would use us for true revival in our city.”

One Mokgatle - One, his wife Confidence and their daughters Amara & Keeya, live in Pretoria, South Africa. He leads Rooted Fellowship - a Gospel-Centered, Disciple Making and Transcultural church. Rooted Fellowship is part of the Renovation Church, Atlanta family. One also serves as the network director for Acts 29 Southern Africa. One’s desire is to see more churches planted in Pretoria and beyond.

Adam Ramsey - Adam leads the Liberti family of churches on the Gold Coast (Australia), and also serves as the network director for Acts 29 Australia & New Zealand. After a decade of pioneering ministries in both Australia and the USA, the Ramsey’s moved home to the Gold Coast at the end of 2014 to plant a church that lifted Jesus high, loved each other deeply, and was fiercely committed to multiplication. In its first three years Liberti sent out two church plants, and is prayerfully planning to send out many more. The greatest privileges in Adam’s life are knowing that Jesus loves him, being married to Kristina, wrestling with his five kids, and preaching the gospel.

Kyllum Lewis - Kyllum leads the Life Centre Family of churches and is the Lead Pastor of Life Centre Church (LCC) North Lakes, a church replant in mid 2016 on the Northside of Brisbane. With a mission to make, mature and multiply disciples and communities, LCC planted its first church early 2019 in the city of Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast. Kyllum has a passion to grow and equip Godly leaders, with a strong vision to plant more gospel-centred churches in Brisbane and beyond. Kyllum's greatest joy is spreading the good news of Jesus and spending time with his wife Karly and 4 children. Kyllum serves as the Queensland Regional Director for Acts 29.

WORSHIP

CityAlight - CityAlight is a ministry of St Paul’s Castle Hill. Our vision is to write songs with biblically rich lyrics and simple melodies for the Christian church to sing. For thousands of years now Christians have been writing simple songs about the great truths of the gospel for their churches to sing. And we are very honored to join in that long tradition, investing it with meaning to people in this generation.
