Event description

Description

Switchboard Victoria is a community based not for profit organisation that provides peer based, volunteer run support services for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex (LGBTQI) people and their friends, families and allies.

Over time, Switchboard’s growing visibility in the community, media and social media has corresponded to a growing presence at events. We now run events for and within the LGBTQI community every month of the year. This includes information stalls, University talks, Carnival days, Pride marches, Balls and a myriad of events across Victoria.

For the first time, Switchboard would like to recognise Events Volunteering as a separate role, sitting apart from our existing volunteering roles in Phone counselling and Out & About.

Interested in becoming a Switchboard Events volunteer? This a great chance to get involved in the LGBTQI community, make new friends, access high quality training and to give back to others in your spare time.

Event volunteering opportunities will be irregular; you can chose how many times you would like to volunteer over the year, and only opt in to events you are interested in.

Join us for our information session and learn more about this exciting opportunity!

The event wil include:

  • opportunities to learn more about Switchboard as an organisation
  • A chance to meet other potential volunteers
  • A more detailed run down about event opportunities
  • Expected time commitments
  • A chance to have your questions answered
  • Snacks

Please RSVP now so we can make the information night as great as posible, including arranging catering.
