Join professional snorkel leaders and marine biologists for a guided snorkel at Stony Point in the Upper Spencer Gulf Marine Park. The reef is home to an amazing variety of colourful fish, dolphins, plant life and the amazing breeding congregation of Giant Australian cuttlefish.

The snorkel sessions:

Suitable for children 8 years and above whom are good swimmers. Children under 15 years must be accompanied in water & supervised by a parent/adult at 2:1 ratio (2 children: 1 parent/adult).

Depth ranges from 1-4m. Trained snorkel guides lead the tours and are often accompanied by student or qualified marine biologists.

Arrive 30 minutes early:

Please arrive at EMS marquee registration table (at Stony Point) at least 30 minutes before snorkel start time to fill out out registration form and be fitted with wetsuit & snorkel gear.

What does registration fee include?

Registration fee includes guided tour & wetsuit/snorkel gear (including hood, gloves and booties) if required. You are urged to bring your own 7mm wetsuit and snorkel gear if you have it. Half price deal (promo 'owngear') requires participant to bring his or her own 7mm wetsuit and snorkel gear.

Where do I meet to take part in tour?

EMS team will have a marquee and registration table set up at Stony Point car park. A map can be found here and also on website here

Is there an age limit to enter the event?

The event is open to children 8 years and above. All children 15 years and under must be accompanied in water by an adult/parent.

What can I bring to the event?

Bring your own 7mm wetsuit and snorkeling gear and use promo code 'owngear' for 50% off (if you don’t have your own snorkeling equipment we can provide limited number if you pay full price). It will be cold after snorkel so please bring warm clothing/blanket and a thermos with your favorite hot drink.

Do you need to have snorkeling experience?

You don’t need snorkeling experience but you do need to be a good swimmer. Larger groups will be broken down to smaller groups with similar experienced snorkelers in each group - this allows more assistance to those who require it.

What if sea conditions/weather is not suitable for snorkeling?

We have a plan B site that can be snorkeled safely if too windy at Stony Point (see map here). Bad weather - EMS team will monitor sea/weather conditions the week leading up to the snorkel sessions - if not suitable for snorkeling all participants will be contacted via email & text message no less than 24hrs before their booked snorkel tour to let them know that sessions have been re-scheduled. Participants will be given option to re-schedule or receive refund.

Refund policy

EMS Team requires 24 hours notice of cancellation for snorkel tours and accommodation. There is no refund if less than 24hrs given.
