Sweet Expo Sydney 2018

Sweet Expo will bring the pages of Sweet Magazine to life over two days in Sydney this August. It's the perfect day out for lovers of baking, foodies with a sweet tooth, and anyone who loves to celebrate!

Spend time wandering the aisles and shop the latest kitchen gadgets and cake decorating tools, eat your way through a market filled with pop up bakeries, ice creameries, chocolatiers and more, and learn from local Aussie chefs and cake decorators at hourly demonstrations on our three stages.

Sweet Expo doors open Saturday 18th August and Sunday 19th August at the Royal Hall of Industries, Moore Park. Join us for a day filled with cakers, bakers, and more from 9:00am - 4:30pm.

Sweet Expo and Sweet Magazine are Australian owned and operated by small business, supporting small business. Among our vendors are small batch producers of everything from custom designed cake toppers to chai tea, spend some time talking to the makers and bakers who are the backbone of this delicious industry - visiting and shopping at Sweet Expo supports your local community!

FAQs

Where do I put my coupon code?

Click or tap the Enter Promotional Code link that appears in the ticket list before you select your ticket type to reveal any special hidden tickets like the Companion Card ticket listed below.

I bought the wrong type of ticket, can I change it?

Sure thing! You can transfer your ticket to a different type of ticket, a different day, or change the name on your ticket. There's no cost for changing your ticket, follow Eventbrite's instructions on how to transfer your ticket, here.

Do you participate in the Companion Card program?

We do! Use the code companion when purchasing your ticket to book your companion ticket. You must show a valid NSW Companion Card to event staff when you enter Sweet Expo on the day you've booked.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Due to the high volume of visitors to Sweet Expo Sydney, we highly recommend using public transport. The Royal Hall of Industries is situated within the Moore Park Precinct next to the Entertainment Quarter and Fox Studios Australia, only 10 minutes from the Sydney CBD.

From Central, Wynyard or Town Hall stations you can catch the 339 bus, which brings you directly to Fox Studios.

The closest station to Moore Park is Central. Sydney Buses operate regular services from Central to Moore Park. Routes 338, 374, 376 and 391 depart from Eddy Avenue stand C. Alight at the first stop on the bus roadway at Moore Park. Routes 372, 393 and 395 depart from Eddy Avenue stand C. Alight at the first stop on Anzac Parade.

Limited parking is available in the Wilson multi-deck carpark, find pricing here. If you plan on driving, we recommend booking a space ahead of time, book a bay here.

I've heard it was super busy at Sweet Expo last year, what are you doing to manage crowds?

It was crazy busy, wasn’t it?? We decided the best solution to this problem was a bigger venue. Which is why we’ve relocated to the Royal Hall of Industries - double the size of last year’s venue. This was something we were able to do in Melbourne last year to great success, so we know it’s going to be more comfortable, easier to see everything that’s happening, easier talk to the experts running their pop up shops, and you’ll be able to spend more time taking in the free demonstrations and enjoy a sweet feast!

Speaking of our demonstration stages and delicious treats, there’s more seating at stages and more places to rest and enjoy lunch and dessert. Generally, more room everywhere!

Will you have classes and workshops?

Yes! And after feedback from Sydney last year, we trialled some shorter and more affordable workshops in Melbourne that were a fantastic hit (thanks for being such great guinea pigs Melbourne friends)! In Sydney this year we’ll have more hands on workshops covering everything cake decorating and party so you can indulge all of your creative urges!

When will workshops go on sale?

Most workshops and classes will go on sale in June and we’ll continue to add classes and workshops right up until the expo in August. Keep an eye on your inbox, our Instagram feed, and Facebook for all the updates!

Is Sweet Expo kid friendly?

Yes! As well as teaching some great hands on skills and techniques for adults, our Create + Take classes are fantastic fun for little hands. We have cupcake decorating for your little baker, and plenty to do and see (and eat)! Our only suggestion is to leave your prams at home if you can and opt for baby carriers at the expo. Children under 12 are free, but you'll still need to add a ticket for each mini-baker you're bringing along. This helps us to better mange crowds.

You said something about lunch?

This year you’ll have more savoury options to cleanse the palette between freak shakes and organic chocolate donuts! You'll find savoury food trucks outside in the fresh air near the Sweet Market.

Are there allergen free options available?

Our team works hard to ensure there are a variety of gluten free and dairy free options for visitors. This year is no different, and as we confirm our Sweet Market vendors we’ll list them in the shopping directory and let you know what allergen free options are available.
