Event Details

So, what is swarm?

swarm conference is about exploring the nature of Community Management - an industry indeed in rapid growth, and one of which will only continue to evolve.

Now in its third year, swarm has grown exponentially, driven by the growing popularity of our social and mobile economy, increasing a demand for knowledgeable people to drive innovative Community Management activity.

Community Management is the discipline of ensuring healthy, practical and productive communities thrive at the hands of talented practitioners. These practitioners, Community Managers, have been around since the early days of the web, with the profession becoming ‘mainstream’ over the past few years riding the online social community wave. Community Managers are behavioural scientists, writers, counsellors, legal aids, teachers, nerf herders and then some.

#swarmconf will feature an array of exciting international talent as alongside some of Australia's best community thinkers and doers over two huge days of forward-thinking and engaging learning. Swarm will connect online Community Managers with the aim of sharing resources, best practices, information and ideas, while contributing our voice to the discourse of our digital futures.

How can we ensure are communities are active, thriving, growing, nurtured, productive and sustainable? What cultural, political and technological issues impact our world - and how can we work together to overcome challenges?

swarm has grown to ensure the conference will stimulate and inspire, while offering actionable insights.
