Event description

Description

You and your family are invited to this year’s Swamp Fest, an annual community planting event to help re-establish the habitat around one of the Fleurieu’ s last remaining large swamp ecosystems.

During the day we will be planting seedlings of the endangered Mount Compass Oak-bush and other native plants. This will help improve habitat for the endangered Mount Lofty Ranges Southern Emu Wren – a spectacular and secretive bird.

The day will continue the fantastic work of previous Swamp Fest volunteers and marks 8 years of this wonderful community event! Bird watchers are reporting sightings of the Mount Lofty Ranges Southern Emu Wren and plants planted in previous years are now regenerating which is great to see.

Come along and see for yourself just how special Stipiturus Conservation Park is and contribute to this very important community project.

This is a family friendly and FREE event:

  • Morning tea, snacks and lunch provided.
  • All tools and safety equipment is supplied.
  • Please wear closed shoes (gumboots if wet), long sleeve shirt and a hat.
  • Water will be available to fill up your water bottles.

Swamp Fest is a Natural Resources, Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges NRM Levy funded project.
