About this event

Unfortunately local construction and infrastructure projects are usually out of your control. While they often bring community benefits, they can also have a significant impact on your business.

The secret to surviving and keeping your customers during construction works is to make sure you are prepared, and to have some clever marketing ideas up your sleeve.

Presented by a trusted adviser from the Small Business Development Corporation, this workshop will take you through how to prepare for each stage, from pre-construction to after the project is complete. We’ll provide plenty of practical ideas, helpful checklists and tools, plus you’ll learn what other communities and businesses have done to survive and thrive during what potentially could be a difficult time. You’ll also be able to download a handy project survival planner to help you prepare your business.

This event is free, but places are limited so bookings are essential.

Important booking information

You are limited to two tickets per booking (you can of course make more than one booking).

We will be emailing you with instructions and a link on how to join and important information to ensure your device is suitable. Therefore, if you are booking for more than one person, please ensure you provide each person's email address.

To book for larger groups, please contact us on 133 140.

You can cancel your booking up to 24 hours before the workshop starts. Even for free sessions we would appreciate you cancelling if you cannot attend so another small business owner can take your place. For paid sessions, no refunds will be issued within 24 hours of the scheduled start time.

Additional information for online workshop sessions

Please check your computer's suitability for online workshops, including its sound quality, browser, internet bandwidth and speed and video plugins (if required) before the start of the online workshop session. Camera and microphone capabilities are recommended to interact with online workshops.

Our online workshops are run as live, interactive sessions, similar to the format of our face-to-face sessions. For this reason, there is a limited number of tickets per session so our presenters can adequately interact with, and respond to, attendees. Recordings of these live sessions are not available if you do not attend the live event time.
