SUPPORTING CHILDREN WITH ANXIETY AND

DEPRESSIVE DISORDERS

Depression and anxiety are two of the most frequent mental health disorders in children. If left unattended, anxiety significantly interferes with a child’s daily functioning. Behaviour can range from being reluctant to go to school, withdrawing from social activities, refusing to participate in out of school activities to being completely home bound. Anxiety can also lead to poor academic performance and underachievement. This practical and interactive workshop will explore the cause of anxiety and depression in children. Participants will learn a range of strategies they can use to support their son or daughter at home and at school.
