Description

Developed by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority, early childhood development expert Dr Priscilla Clarke OAM and fka Children’s Services, this session explores the stages of additional language development and the role teachers and early childhood professionals have in supporting emerging English learners in kindergarten.




Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (APST):

1.3 Learners with diverse linguistic, cultural, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds: Design and implement teaching strategies that are responsive to learning strengths and needs of learners from diverse linguistic, cultural, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds.


National Quality Standards:
